Job summary

Carle Health seeks an RN Supervisor to coordinate nursing operations within the Behavioral Health department and provide clinical leadership. You will support the Patient Care Manager/Director, lead staffing, ensure safe patient care, and participate in quality initiatives.

You will develop policies, mentor staff, and coordinate interdisciplinary care, while maintaining nursing standards and preparing for organizational accreditation activities.

Qualifications

• National Nursing Certification within 3 years required/preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois (IDFPR)
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required
• Experience in behavioral health nursing

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily nursing and staffing activities in the department
• Monitor daily nursing workflow and ensure safe patient care
• Oversee quality initiatives and process improvement activities
• Develop and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures
• Staff education, competencies, orientation, and bi-yearly evaluations
• Oversee ordering of supplies, equipment, and medications
• Participate in leadership programs, meetings and initiatives
• Ensure staff training and competency for all tasks
• Handle personnel actions including hiring, performance reviews, and promotions
• Provide competent health care to patients and families and ensure standards of care
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and audits as directed
• Coordinate patient care conferences and interdisciplinary input
• Assist Director with accreditation surveys and department audits
• Serve as educational liaison and nursing resource across the health system
