Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Nursing Supervisor Administrative to provide clinical leadership and administrative oversight across Behavioral Health units. The role focuses on nursing leadership, staff guidance, and ensuring safe, compassionate patient care while aligning with hospital operations.

The successful candidate will have an NJ RN license, a BSN or be in progress, and at least three years of psychiatric nursing with progressive management responsibility.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in New Jersey.
• BSN or current enrollment in BSN program required.
• Minimum of 3 years psychiatric nursing with progressive management experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent hospital Administration as a delegated administrative leader and visible resource for staff, patients, families, physicians, and departments.
• Conduct rounds across patient care units to assess environment and nursing care delivery.
• Support nursing teams in delivering safe, compassionate care per standards and regulatory requirements.
• Promote open communication and accessibility to staff for ongoing concerns.
• Monitor compliance with hospital policies, quality initiatives, patient safety, and infection prevention.
• Coordinate and escalate relevant incidents to administrators and risk management when needed.
• Coordinate emergency responses and disaster plan implementations.
• Collect and analyze Behavioral Health data to identify quality improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate resources to optimize staffing and operations for productivity and care quality.
• Promote patient rights, dignity, and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and departments to resolve concerns.
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practice and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
