Job summary

Safe Harbor Recovery Center in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse (PRN) to provide nursing care and supervise care staff on the assigned unit, developing and evaluating plans of care.

The RN will assess patients, document, administer medications, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team while ensuring accurate charting and safety throughout shifts. Active RN license is required; behavioral health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license valid in state (or compact state) and active.
• One or more years nursing experience in clinical/beha vioral health settings preferred.
• Experience coordinating care with LPNs/CNAs and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and supervise care treatment by LPNs and CNAs on assigned unit.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individual plans of care; assess and reassess patients.
• Administer medications, document counts, and monitor lab results under physician supervision.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to supervisor/physician and coordinate with treatment team.
• Complete admission/discharge processes and ensure thorough documentation.

Education

Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing
