Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the Night shift in Behavioral Health to join the BH Flex unit. The nurse will administer treatments, monitor patients, and collaborate with the care team across a variety of behavioral health disorders.

Requires TX RN license, BLS certification, CPI training within 30 days of hire, and strong communication skills. BSN preferred; hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current TX RN license and valid BLS.
• Accepts assignment to any behavioral health unit.
• CPI training within 30 days of hire.
• Good written and verbal communication; English proficiency.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values to others.
• Ensures care is delivered per Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Performs nursing care using sound judgement.
• Implements physician orders safely.
• Assists with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Transcribes and implements new physician orders.
• Maintains detailed and accurate nursing records.
• Provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Makes rounds and prioritizes patients’ needs.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Administers medications and therapies within safe nursing practice.
• Plans and coordinates patient care plans.
• Reports any issues to the supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
