Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
• Current registered nurse license in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS certification.
• Accepts assignment to any behavioral health unit.
• CPI training within 30 days of hire date.
• Computer skills required to be effective on assigned units.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of staff and physicians.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the hospital's mission and values in daily care.
• Deliver nursing care per Texas Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately.
• Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as needed.
• Document nursing actions meticulously and promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians and other staff to plan care.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
• Supervise and guide non-licensed staff on units.
