Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our nursing team supporting residential and day programs across Somerset, Ocean and Monmouth County. The RN will provide nursing care in a hybrid capacity, combining field, office, and remote work as needed.

The ideal candidate is licensed in New Jersey, with 1 year of nursing experience preferred and a passion for adults with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice as an RN in New Jersey.
One year of nursing experience preferred, but new grads will also be considered.
Previous professional experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.
Have a strong passion for working with and helping adults with special needs.
Comfortable traveling to different group homes.

Responsibilities

Complete annual Nursing Assessments for each residential individual.
Conduct quarterly choking assessments for high-risk individuals in day and residential programs.
Review all dietary changes for day and residential programs.
Provide specialized training for new hire orientations and ongoing training as needed.
Review medication charts, labs and counts to ensure accuracy.
Assist group homes with primary care physician or other doctors as needed.
Review charts to ensure all required documentation has been received.
