Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Highlands in Sparta, TN, seeks a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health for day/PRN shifts. You will perform bio-psychosocial assessments, develop and implement a nursing care plan, and participate in treatment conferences with the team to tailor care to each patient’s needs.

Requirements include TN RN licensure, BLS and instructor certification within 30 days of hire, and a nursing diploma or equivalent licensure. Ascension offers retirement and wellbeing support to staff.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.
• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develops a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
• Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
• Implements nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
• Evaluates patient's response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed. Collaborates with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status.
