Job summary

Copper Springs Avondale, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health to support intake/admissions and floor care on a full-time, 3x12 schedule. The role emphasizes clinical education, policy training, and staff development within a dynamic psychiatric setting.

You will train and onboard staff, ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA, and potentially serve as a preceptor for new hires.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license and BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• CPR certification and CPI training within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in psychiatric health care preferred, with exposure to dual diagnosis.
• Completion of age-specific training within 30 days of employment.
• Prior experience as a nurse educator is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands patient treatment plans and coaches staff on patient responses to treatment interventions.
• Trains staff on department policies, forms, and processes.
• Provides hands-on initial and ongoing clinical education.
• May serve as a preceptor for new nurse and PCA hires.
• Trains staff on policies including patient safety, documentation, and crisis interventions.
• Maintains CPI and CPR instructor certifications and conducts regular classes.
• Demonstrates HIPAA knowledge and privacy adherence.
• Collaborates with HR and DON to track staff certification requirements.
• Attends supervisory meetings and onboarding training for new employees.
