Job summary

Copper Springs Avondale is seeking an Intake/Assessment RN to join our behavioral health team in Avondale, AZ. This full-time role operates on a 3x12 schedule during the day shift and focuses on initial assessments, admissions, and referral coordination.

You will work with a collaborative team, maintain accurate documentation, and follow EMTALA and privacy guidelines while delivering compassionate patient care. An Arizona RN license and ADN are required; BSN is preferred, and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license and ADN from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS and Handle with Care preferred.
• Arizona license or Compact License with Arizona endorsement.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including initial response, assessment, referral, level of care designation, admission and follow-up.
• Conducts initial evaluation, initiates assessment, documents symptoms and needs, and informs MD for LOC determination.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service with patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers.
• Maintains preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes pre-certification with insurance.
• Monitors patient condition and notifies physician as needed.
• Follows hospital policy for medication administration.
• Uses empathy, dignity and respect in all interactions.
