Job summary

Athra Systems/Crosstown Mental Health in Texas seeks a seasoned Behavioral Health Business Office Director to oversee the complete revenue cycle, including registration, verification, billing, collections, and enrollment while ensuring HIPAA compliance and payer alignment.

Collaborate with clinical leadership to optimize documentation, coding issues, and payer enrollment; drive system enhancements and monthly financial reporting for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive revenue cycle management experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional billing experience in behavioral health settings.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and payer reimbursement methodologies.
• Experience with insurance credentialing and payer enrollment.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid and managed care reimbursements.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all business office operations for behavioral health services.
• Manage the professional billing revenue cycle from intake to final payment resolution.
• Ensure timely submission of professional claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
• Monitor A/R, denials, write-offs, and collection activities to maximize reimbursement.
• Develop strategies to reduce uncollectible accounts and improve cash flow.
• Supervise billing staff, payment posting, collections, and business office personnel.
• Oversee insurance eligibility verification and prior authorizations.
• Maintain HIPAA and payer compliance; monitor credentialing and enrollment processes.
• Analyze revenue cycle metrics and prepare monthly reports for SVP/CFO.
