Job summary

Citizens Behavioral Health in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead our Behavioral Health All Day Program.

This leadership role combines clinical oversight, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and operational management to ensure high-quality care and efficient service delivery.

You will collaborate with teams, support counselors and nurses, and drive continuous quality improvement while aligning with the organization's mission.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Active professional licensure in North Carolina.
• Minimum 3 years of behavioral health experience.
• Experience in leadership, supervision, or program management roles.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health treatment, clinical documentation, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversee therapists, case managers, nursing staff.
• Review treatment plans and client progress; support crisis decisions.
• Manage daily schedules, admissions, and discharges; oversee group services.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality clinical documentation.
• Recruit, train, supervise staff; conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Coordinate care with partners and community providers; support care continuity.
• Lead crisis management and safety procedures.
