Horizon Health is seeking a Program Director of Behavioral Health to oversee the Summit Regional Medical Center in Show Low, AZ. The role leads clinical and operational aspects of the inpatient behavioral health unit and ensures evidence-based care aligned with regulatory standards?

The position drives program development, staff leadership, and quality outcomes across Horizon Health services. Strong leadership, communication, and data-driven decision making are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or master's in social work/counseling required.
• RN, LCSW, or LCPC, or equivalent licensure required.
• Strong license and regulatory background with leadership experience.
• Excellent clinical psychiatric knowledge base and programming understanding.
• 5–8+ years of related work experience; BLS/ACLS and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for behavioral health programs, ensuring patient safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practices.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral health services, programs, and treatment models.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations (CMS, Joint Commission, state licensing).
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and ancillary leadership to integrate behavioral health services across care settings.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams to address process improvements involving patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
• Define the philosophy, goals and objectives of the treatment program with hospital administration and Horizon staff.
• Work with national support staff to maximize value from Horizon services.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of behavioral health departments and manage budgets.
• Analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement and better care access.
• Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate staff; foster professional growth.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes and safety.
• Respond to regulatory reviews and corrective action plans.
