Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in clerical, patient contact, hospital business office or insurance.
• Strong communication to interview patients and families and exchange information with staff, physicians and payors.
• At least 1 year experience as a Patient Access & Scheduling Representative.
• Concise written communication and keyboarding skills required.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.
• Previous Patient Access Representative experience at TMC or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and/or other sources to obtain demographic and financial data and access clinical and financial systems.
• Schedule patient appointments via the electronic scheduling system.
• Gather and record financial and insurance information and coordinate referrals to resources.
• Validate financial and insurance information and obtain pre-certification/authorization; collect co-pays.
• Complete admission/registration paperwork.
