Job summary

PsychPlus is seeking a Behavioral Health Business Development Representative to expand access to mental health services by building relationships with providers, clinics, hospitals, and community partners in the greater Chicago area. This field-based role focuses on outreach to psychiatrists, therapists, and primary care practices to grow referrals and partnerships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of business development, field sales, provider relations, or referral outreach experience in behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare.
• Experience building relationships with healthcare providers, clinics, hospitals, or behavioral health referral sources.
• Direct experience in mental health, behavioral healthcare, outpatient therapy, psychiatry, telehealth, or related healthcare environment preferred.
• Proven ability to conduct in-person outreach, develop professional relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
• Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the assigned territory.
• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, communications, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute field-based business development strategies to expand behavioral health referral relationships.
• Visit mental health practices, medical clinics, hospitals, primary care offices, and community organizations within the assigned territory.
• Build and maintain relationships with psychiatrists, therapists, physicians, social workers, healthcare administrators, and other referral partners.
• Identify and develop new referral opportunities across mental health and behavioral healthcare networks.
• Schedule and conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and outreach visits with prospective referral partners.
• Communicate behavioral health services, care offerings, and referral processes to healthcare professionals.
• Develop a consistent pipeline of qualified referral relationships and business development opportunities.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with existing referral partners to support engagement and continuity.
• Understand the needs of healthcare providers and referral sources and communicate opportunities for collaboration.
• Follow up with prospective partners and maintain accurate records of outreach activity and relationship development.
• Identify opportunities to expand partnerships with clinics, hospitals, community organizations, and behavioral health providers.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support the onboarding and development of new referral partners.
