Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or medical/administrative training preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of healthcare or medical office experience.
• Familiarity with prior authorization processes and insurance verification.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn regulations surrounding Schedule II medications;
• Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage medication refill requests from a shared distribution list.
• Process Schedule II refill requests per regulations and clinic policy.
• Initiate and track prior authorization requests with insurers and PBMs.
• Communicate PA statuses to providers and patients promptly.
• Document all medication requests and authorizations in the EHR.
• Escalate complex needs to Lead Medication Coordinator or provider.
