Job summary

PeaceHealth seeks a Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health for a Full Time position in Oregon. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to support physicians in patient care, within the scope of the MA.

The position requires MOA/MEdical Assistant training, at least 1 year medical office experience, BLS, and current national certification per Oregon/Alaska rules. Strong privacy, teamwork, and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited Medical Assistant program required or MOA pathway; allows sitting for MOA exam.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office preferred.
• National Medical Assistant Certification per Oregon/Alaska requirements (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAH, NAHPUSA).
• Upon hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Able to protect patient privacy and confidentiality; strong data handling and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with computers, multi-line phones, and basic insurance billing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination and records history and vital signs as applicable.
• Sets up exam/treatment rooms and maintains medical supplies and equipment.
• Administers injections, applies dressings, and assists with wound care under provider orders.
• Prepares sterilized supplies and equipment for treatments.
• May transport specimens and schedule tests or follow-ups.
• Maintains patient files and EMR data entry; supports clinic operations.
• Provides phone screening to route patients to appropriate staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
