Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health for a full-time position in Oregon. The role involves assisting physicians in patient care within the scope of practice, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting the clinical team in a busy setting.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Medical Assistant program or MOA certification, at least 1 year of medical office experience, and current Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• Accredited program required: Medical Assistant or MOA certification exam eligibility.
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred in a medical office.
• Must have active Basic Life Support at hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and anesthesia interview; record histories and vitals.
• Prepare exam rooms; set up and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Administer injections, apply splints and dressings, assist with wound care.
• Prepare and maintain treatment supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
• Transport specimens as needed and assist with scheduling tests and follow-ups.
• Maintain patient files and enter data into EMR; assist in coordinating care.
• Provide phone screening to route patients to appropriate clinical staff.
