Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join Behavioral Health Services. You will provide patient care under RN supervision, perform data collection for initial assessment, and help develop and implement the plan of care.

Responsibilities include administering medications, infection control, and effective communication with the health care team. The role requires strong clinical nursing skills and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing or equivalent education as described by the state education law is required.
• Current NJ license as an LPN.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• IV certification preferred.
• Clinical nursing skills appropriate for an LPN.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients under RN supervision.
• Collects patient data and contributes to the plan of care and data base for MDS.
• Administers medications and performs treatments per hospital policy.
• Maintains infection control and safety practices in patient care.
• Communicates patient needs and changes in condition to the charge nurse and health care team.
• Completes and documents nursing interventions and patient responses in the medical record.
