Job summary

Aurora Charter Oak Hospital is seeking an Intake Clerk for the Needs Assessment Department in Covina, CA. This full-time position is on the PM shift with 8-hour days and a pay range of $23-$25/hr. You will support the Intake team, process documents, coordinate with hospitals, and gain exposure to behavioral health.

Candidates should have a high school degree, clerical experience, and familiarity with Microsoft Office. This role offers a path to a healthcare career and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED or equivalent required.
• Clerical experience working in an office, doctor's office highly preferred.
• Insurance knowledge preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare preferred.
• Telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel.
• Data entry, time management, typing and organization skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider card upon hire.
• Therapeutic Options Training (TOT) to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical and administrative support to Intake Department; assist nurse with faxes, insurance look-ups, documents in AIS (BESTCare), communicate with hospitals, referral sources, and other duties as assigned.
