Job summary

Universal Health Services Inc. seeks a Maintenance Technician to handle routine maintenance for Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC tasks to keep the facility safe, clean and efficient.

This intermediate role is within the Plant Operations Department and emphasizes safety and timely work-order completion. Qualified candidates have 2–3 years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and a Florida driver license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years maintenance experience, preferably in hospital/behavioral health.
• Must have valid Florida Driver License.
• Experience with electrical and distribution systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, water and sewer systems, powered equipment, vehicles, safety and fire protection.

Responsibilities

• General facility maintenance including carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and HVAC components under supervision.
• Prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
• Follow safety practices including PPE, lockout/tagout, ladder and hand-tool safety.
• Navigate behavioral health environments ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Communicate clearly with clinical staff, patients and vendors using service excellence.
