Job summary

Universal Health Services operates Suncoast Behavioral Health Center in Florida, seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine facility maintenance and ensure a safe, efficient environment for patients and staff.

The role requires hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, plus adherence to safety regulations and preferred experience in behavioral health settings. Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a behavioral health or hospital setting.
• Must have valid Florida driver's license.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water/sewer, safety and fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine facility maintenance including carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and minor plumbing.
• Troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems under supervision.
• Prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
• Follow safety practices, PPE, lockout/tagout and safe ladder operations.
• Maintain safety in behavioral health environments for patients and staff.
• Communicate with clinical staff and vendors to ensure service excellence.
