Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. in Atlanta is seeking a dedicated behavioral health technician to provide direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders and those who are chemically dependent.

This role supports the therapeutic milieu, may perform duties of an Emergency Department Technician, requires an associate or bachelor's in a behavioral health field, plus BLS, and includes a 7 pm–7 am shift with weekend work.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related behavioral health field.
• One year of behavioral health experience OR three years in psychiatric clinical/patient care.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services to behavioral health and chemically dependent patients.
• Maintain safety and well-being by supporting the therapeutic milieu.
• May perform duties of an Emergency Department Technician.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu, and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety. May also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields.
• One (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field setting, OR three (3) years of experience in psychiatric settings in a clinical/direct patient care job.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

1. Patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility
