Job summary

Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks a Behavioral Health Aide to support crisis and de-escalation interventions under supervision of an RN or physician. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, social services or health-related area, or a high school diploma and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of restraints/seclusion training before performing such work.
• Training in vital signs and grooming within 90 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Performs crisis and/or de-escalation interventions with patients as needed.
• Assists with restraints and seclusion when required, ensuring safety.
• Identifies triggers for agitation and communicates to the treatment team.
• Monitors patient behavior and escorts to required locations.
• Participates in safety checks and responds to emergencies with the Behavioral Response Team.
