Job summary

Diversus Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Coordinator to manage crisis referrals and coordinate placements and care. This role engages with clients, families, and partners to ensure timely access to services.

Responsibilities include triage, interagency coordination, and documenting interactions in the EHR. Requires a 4-year degree in a health field and the ability to work Saturdays and Sundays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or healthcare field or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of volunteer or professional behavioral health experience preferred.
• Desire to work with people who have mental illness.
• Understanding of systems of care and integration of physical and behavioral health.
• Ability to adapt to different organizational cultures (primary care, etc.).
• Ability to take initiative and use critical thinking to solve problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong rapport skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel (25+ wpm).

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and referrals; triage and connect clients with needs.
• Coordinate placement, referral, and admission through calling and agency partners.
• Manage Diversus Health Emergency Response communications.
• Maintain ongoing client and provider communications; update placement info.
• Coordinate with clinical team to provide crisis care in community settings.
• Review referrals for ATU level of care; arrange nursing reports and transport.
• Refer crisis walk-in center clients for internal/external placement.
• Obtain initial insurance pre-authorizations for accepted clients.
• Document all client interactions in the EHR system; ensure data accuracy.
• Support continuity of care and safety; conduct follow-up calls.
