Job summary

Mercy Hospital Ada is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Charge Nurse to join the team. The Charge RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for psychiatric patients in accordance with nursing standards. The role includes oversight of nursing staff and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include an RN license (active), BLS, and possible ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC certifications. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, and weekend coverage as described.

Qualifications

• RN license active in good standing (US).
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC/OCN guidance or certification may be required based on unit.
• PALS/PEARS or other pediatric/critical care certifications may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for psychiatric patients.
• Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions.
• Provide patient and family education to support understanding of treatment plans and recovery goals.
• Promote safety by de-escalation, crisis intervention, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Oversee nursing staff.
