SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Sitka, Alaska, seeks a Behavioral Health Case Manager to support adults, children and families with serious emotional, mental, or substance use disorders. You will manage an assigned caseload, assess needs, advocate, and connect clients with community resources for stabilization and recovery.

The role emphasizes coordination with health and social services, active listening, thorough documentation, and timely crisis response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, education, human development, mental health, or related field preferred; equivalent combination may be accepted.
• Candidates enrolled in a master’s program in social work, mental health, or related field may be considered.
• CDC-I or BHA-II certification required within three years of hire.
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Manages and monitors assigned client caseload to support independence, safety, and stability.
• Links clients with health and social services including medical, housing, education, and financial aid.
• Provides supportive active listening to encourage client self-directed change.
• Documents services and completes prior authorizations for testing, services, treatment, or medication.
• Responds promptly to urgent client situations and coordinates referrals as needed.
• Identifies delays and obstacles to care and helps resolve them.
• Engages in outreach and advocacy within the community to meet client needs.
