Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Attendant to provide direct, non-clinical support to patients with mental health and behavioral challenges. You will observe, document, and report patient conditions, while assisting with daily activities and ensuring a safe, compassionate environment.

In this role, you will work alongside clinical staff, apply de-escalation techniques, and participate in trainings to uphold safety and patient rights.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in direct patient care or patient observations, or one year of related education in a human services field.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct, non-clinical support to patients requiring observation.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing or clinical staff promptly.
• Monitor and document patient mood, behavior, and activity per protocol.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as hygiene, meals and mobility as directed.
• De-escalate situations using approved verbal intervention techniques to promote safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; observe patient rights and safety practices.
