Job summary

TrueCare in Oceanside, CA seeks a Behavioral Health Associate to join the primary care team, triage patients and provide behavioral health support with psychoeducation, assessments, and treatment planning.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or Psychology; must be BBS or Board-registered, have school/adolescent experience, a California driver’s license and BLS.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, MFT,Clinical Psychology or PhD/PsyD in Psychology.
• Active registration with BBS as pre-licensed ACSW/AMFT/APCC or Board of Psychology as pre-licensed psychologist.
• BLS certification and valid CA Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Triage and manage patients with medical and behavioral health needs as part of the primary care team.
• Provide psychoeducation, assessment, intervention strategies, and develop patient-centered psychotherapy treatment plans.
• Assist providers in detecting at-risk patients and determining appropriate level of care.

Your Role & Impact

The Behavioral Health Associate triages and manages patients with medical and behavioral health problems as part of the primary care team. As part of clinical training, provides psychoeducation, assessment, intervention strategies, skill training, and develop patient‑centered psychotherapy treatment plans for patients. The Behavioral Health Associate also assists primary health care providers in detecting "at risk" patients, recognizing and treating mental health conditions, and assesses the clinical status of patients to determine the most appropriate level of care.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology or PhD / PsyD in Psychology from an accredited program.
• Active Registration with the BBS as a pre‑licensed ACSW, AMFT, or APCC or Active Registration with the Board of Psychology as post‑doctoral pre‑licensed psychologist.
• Experience working with high‑risk adolescents.
• Experience working in a school setting is highly desired.
• Computer proficiency, particularly with Electronic Health/Medical Record systems and the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association.
• Valid California Driver’s License, proof of insurance and clean driving record.

The pay range for a licensed clinician is $70,304 to $105,456.
