Job summary

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals in Clear Lake, TX is seeking a Behavioral Associate to collaborate with physicians, nurses and other care team members to provide direct behavioral care to patients with psychiatric conditions. You will identify high-risk patients, participate in safety plans, and support evidence-based de-escalation techniques.

You will take part in rounds, hand-offs, and group activities, assisting with daily living tasks and observation as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
• Associate's degree or some college coursework in psychology, social work, or social services is preferred.
• Prior experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred; at least 2 years in a direct care role is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-risk patients and support safety plan interventions.
• Conduct environmental and patient safety rounds and monitor in emergencies.
• Use trauma-informed care to understand patient triggers.
• Participate in shift hand-offs, rounds, and team meetings.
• Debrief after codes, incidents, or restraints.
• Assist with restraints assessment and application/removal.
• Lead or co-lead discussion groups on anger and safety.
• Provide direct physical care and one-to-one observation as needed.
