Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.

• May substitute experience for education.

Responsibilities

• Performs and records patient vital signs, intake and output; notifies RN of changes.
• Continuously observes patients' behavior and mental status; notifies RN of changes.
• Identifies behaviors requiring intervention and documents observations.
• Escorts patients to activities, meals, visitation, and tests.
• Performs patient safety checks and documents appropriately.
• Assists with restraint under RN direction and CPI techniques.
