Safe Harbor Recovery Center in Portsmouth, Virginia is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate II (QMHP Preferred) to join our multidisciplinary treatment team on a part-time basis. The role focuses on monitoring client behaviors, providing supervision, and delivering respectful, structured care in crisis and daily settings.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of BHA experience, CPR and de-escalation certification, and QMHP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year experience as a BHA required.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required.
• QMHP certification preferred.
• Experience with the specific population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive environment.
• Conducts safety checks and supervises clients per guidelines.
• Interacts with clients, observes behaviors, and communicates observations to supervisor.
• Facilitates educational-rehabilitative groups covering social and coping skills.
• Documents client records accurately and in a timely manner.
