Job summary

Qualifications

• Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Adequate knowledge regarding appropriate levels and focus of care as related to psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral problems is required.
• Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• The Admissions Assessor serves as a liaison between Compass Intervention Center and referral sources, patients and families.
• The primary function is to facilitate referrals between referring mobile crisis agencies, hospitals and other referral sources in support of the call center operations.
• Admissions Assessor oversees the assessment, referral and admission activities of the department and provides telephonic and in person assessments, initial contact with referral sources and potential clients, coordinates the referral and intake process.
