Job summary

Compass Intervention Center within Universal Health Services seeks an Admissions Coordinator to manage referrals, intake, assessment and admission activities. The role requires strong communication with referral sources, families and staff and maintaining accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, with crisis intervention experience in a psychiatric setting, and demonstrates integrity and dependability in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
• Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Adequate knowledge regarding appropriate levels and focus of care as related to psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral problems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Compass Intervention Center and referral sources, patients and families.
• Facilitate referrals between referring mobile crisis agencies, hospitals and other sources to support call center operations.
• Oversee the assessment, referral and admission activities of the department; perform telephonic and in-person assessments and coordinate intake processes.
• Determine appropriate level of care and maintain communication with referral sources, families, clients and unit staff.
• Create and maintain department procedures for daily census records, inquiry calls and referrals log; ensure documentation is thorough and accurate.
