Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Behavioral Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to work with adults and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. You will provide person-centered supports to help individuals live as independently as possible and participate in community activities.

The role offers full-time schedules, day, evening and night shifts with a base wage of $17 per hour plus a $2 weekend differential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Driver's License due to transporting persons served.
• Comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served as required.
• Background clearance is required as part of onboarding/employment.
• Able to follow individualized support plans and directions.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to adults with mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Help people develop skills and pursue personal goals, and participate in their communities.
• Offer encouragement, mentoring, and guidance with daily activities and life skills.
• Assist with daily living activities including mobility, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, meals as needed.
• Recognize and respond to behavioral or mental health needs with a calm, team-based approach.
• Attend community activities, appointments, social events and other outings.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with the people we support and teammates.
• Complete required documentation about services, progress and incidents.
• Complete training to safely support the people in our care.
