Maxim Healthcare in Hayward is hiring a Behavioral Caregiver to work with children and/or adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors. The role involves one-to-one behavior intervention and supporting daily activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive and motor skills.

The position includes assisting with personal care, data collection on behavior goals, and crisis intervention as outlined in the Behavior Support Plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience in educational or healthcare settings preferred.
• At least 1 year experience with individuals who display challenging or aggressive behaviors preferred.
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work or related field preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Support daily program activities focusing on self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior skills and crisis intervention.
• Assist with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, meals, dressing and mobility.
• Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one-behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges
• Provides/assists with daily program activities in the areas of self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior and crisis intervention
• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, preparation and feeding of meals, dressing and undressing, ambulation and other activities as needed
• Implement and collect data of the behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
• At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
