Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC in Montebello is seeking a part-time paraeducator to provide direct support to students with special needs within the Montebello Unified School District. You will work Monday through Friday during school hours in various on-site locations.

Under supervision, you assist in instructional activities, maintain a safe, organized classroom, support social skills, and help with technology and materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paraeducator Exam or AA degree (48 units) preferred.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students and staff.
• Experience with children with special needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs.
• Assist in instructional activities and materials development.
• Support in-class activities as directed by district staff.
• Maintain neat, organized classroom environment and materials.
• Assist with behavior management and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Under supervision, assist with assessing student needs.
