Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Behavior Support Technician to assist students with the most severe behavior challenges in the district. The BST operates under behavior specialists, directly engages with students, collects behavior data, and drafts interventions while training paraeducators to replicate strategies after stabilization.

The role requires regular professional development, ability to work flexible hours, and travel between schools as needed to support students’ success in both

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to learn and apply ABA-based strategies.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and travel between schools.

Responsibilities

• Implements behavior strategies and provides one-to-one or small group instruction to students with challenging behaviors.
• Delivers direct instruction in both special and general education settings.
• Collects data on behavior and academic targets and reports findings.
• Trains and supports school-based paraeducators in classrooms and hallways.
• Provides emergency support to students in crisis and participates in ongoing trainings.
