Job summary

The Salt Lake City School District is seeking a Behavior Skills Technician to support students with severe behavior challenges. The BST will collect and interpret data, draft behavior intervention plans, train paraprofessionals, and work under the Director of Special Education with teachers and specialists.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction across settings, traveling between sites, maintaining training, and ensuring compliance with IEPs while applying behavior management strategies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or at least 2 years from an accredited higher education institution preferred.
• Must be able to learn, describe and apply behavior support techniques based on ABA principles.
• CPR & First Aid Certification within two months of hire; Safety Care Training completed.
• Annual Health Services Training and Safe Intervention familiarity recommended.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction to students in special and general education settings.
• Drive between sites as directed; maintain regular attendance and travel as needed.
• Collect and analyze data to support FBA and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Implement behavior strategies for students with significant behavioral needs.
• Provide feedback to teachers and participate in monthly meetings.
• Complete Emergency Safe Interventions documentation when used; maintain confidentiality.
