The DAY Program seeks an In School Suspension Teacher to support behavior plans and student success. The role involves planning with teachers and counselors, implementing behavior support and maintaining student records.

This position is not employed by Shelby County Schools and is handled through a partner organization. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree; teaching experience or a valid teaching certificate is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Teaching experience or valid teaching certificate preferred.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be considered as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Uphold school rules, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in efficient school operations as directed.
• Respect student and staff confidentiality.
• Foster positive attitudes toward citizenship, self-discipline, morality, and patriotism.
• Plan with teachers and counselors to assist students.
• Implement and monitor behavior plans and provide behavioral support.
• Maintain student records and assist in creating a positive learning environment.
