Job summary

JCFS in Chicago seeks a paraprofessional to provide behavioral, emotional, and academic support for students while maintaining a safe school environment. You will assist teachers, de-escalate crises with CPI/UKERU, and ensure student safety throughout the day.

Responsibilities include classroom support, crisis response, lunch supervision, and post-crisis documentation. Requirements include a high school diploma, ISBE paraprofessional credential, and experience with ED/ ASD/ OHI populations.

Qualifications

• Must have CPI and UKERU training or able to obtain.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ISBE Paraprofessional certification or able to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience working with students with disabilities (ED/ ASD/ OHI).

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral, emotional, and academic support to students.
• Assist classroom teachers during instruction and in crisis situations.
• Maintain supervision and safety of students at all times.
• Communicate location and coverage plans via radio during shifts.
• Complete post-crisis documentation as required by policy.
• Represent JCFS positively in all interactions and events.
