Qualifications

  • Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License or Short Term Paraprofessional Approval required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prefer 60 hours college credit or an associate degree, or ISBE proficiency tests for license eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to behavior as directed by the MTSS team to support student success.
  • Align to school student behavior strategies.
  • Implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavior plans with specific students.
  • Collaborate with behavior specialists to improve school climate.
  • Maintain professional relationships with school community stakeholders.
  • Supervise individual students or small groups and assist with classroom management.
  • Observe students, record data, and share insights on behavior changes.
