Job summary

State of Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities seeks a Behavioral Specialist to evaluate residents, develop behavior support plans and provide staff training. You will work across interdisciplinary teams to monitor progress and ensure adherence to plans.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services field, 1+ year of relevant experience, PASS and CPR certification, and the ability to work in a dynamic residential setting.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a human services field.
  • At least one year of experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Must maintain PASS and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and assesses residents using functional behavior assessment tools, record review, direct observation, behavioral data analysis and consultation with other interdisciplinary members.
  • Develops behavior support plans that include ABA elements and replacement behaviors.
  • Makes daily rounds on homes of assigned caseload and collects ABC data.
  • Provides in-service training to direct care staff and follows up on implementation of supports.
  • Attends interdisciplinary team meetings and placement/transition meetings for residents.
