Summary:

This position is responsible for providing behavioral support services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

This position is responsible for providing behavioral support services for individuals with developmental disabilities, which includes:

  • Complete comprehensive assessments
  • Develop positive behavioral support plans
  • Provide training to individuals, families, direct support staff and other Individualized Support Team (IST) members
  • Responsible for ensuring that all behavior support services identified and agreed upon by the client's team are delivered in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with all applicable internal and external regulations
  • Utilize state-approved templates
  • Complete all required documentation within state mandated timelines
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Requirements
  • Behavioral Competence: Extensive knowledge of human development, learning theories and behavioral principles.
  • Assessment and Data Analysis: Ability to conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), collect, interpret, and use data or graphs to track progress and modify Behavior plans.
  • Understanding professional codes of conduct, privacy laws, and health regulations.
  • Apply time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, along with active listening skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and build positive working relationships with others.
  • Sound problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing situations.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding when working with others.
Education and Experience:
  • Require a Master's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or other related majors.
  • Prefer previous experience in a human services field and/or experience with individuals with disabilities
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience providing behavior support services preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Be able to lift boxes, etc. not weighing more than 50lbs
