Job summary

Medford Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Specialist to provide direct and consultative therapeutic services in a school setting under the supervision of a BCBA. You will design, implement and interpret behavioral interventions and help train paraprofessional staff to carry out interventions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, experience with ABA concepts, and a strong collaborative approach with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst certification preferred.
• At least 2 years related experience.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Develop or assist with individual behavior management programs across classroom, home, and inclusion settings.
• Direct staff training and development around ABA.
• Provide program/individual staff consultation on BIPs.
• Participate in team consultation meetings with teachers and related service providers/paraprofessional staff.
• Conduct FBAs, Classroom Needs Assessments, and Home Needs Assessments.
• Maintain daily intervention notes.
• Provide oversight of Individual Home Training programs.
• Address district or family questions about social-behavioral characteristics of students.
• Alert Special Education Coordinator to issues/concerns regarding student progress.
• Perform other duties as requested by building principal, the Coordinator of Special Education, or the Director of Pupil Services, within the scope of job description.

Job Description

The Behavior Specialist with appropriate training will design, implement and interpret the results of behavioral interventions. Working with the BCBA, the Behavior Specialist provides professional development to paraprofessional staff to carry out interventions.
