Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public School System seeks a Behavior Interventionist/Behavior Health Coordinator to deliver targeted behavioral interventions to students with IEP/504 plans, teach self-regulation, and support transitions across classrooms. This internal-only role collaborates with MTSS teams to align supports with classroom goals and school priorities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, functional behavior assessment concepts, BIPs, positive reinforcement, and evidence-informed intervention practices.
• Ability to implement behavioral support plans, collect and interpret student-level data, communicate effectively, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with students with emotional impairments or in center-based programs preferred; CPI or other crisis prevention training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned individual and small-group behavioral interventions for students with IEP/504; teach self-regulation, communication, and replacement behaviors.
• Implement strategies in IEPs, BIPs, and other student support plans; reinforce skills across settings.
• Observe and document behavioral patterns and barriers to learning; use data to inform team discussions.
