Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking an Academic and Attendance MTSS Coach to support student achievement, engagement, and attendance through MTSS. The role includes targeted interventions, data-driven small groups, and collaboration with teachers to strengthen Tier 1 practices.

The coach maintains a caseload, analyzes attendance and academic data, and helps guide data-driven interventions while aligning with MTSS frameworks and equity goals.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (Math or English focus preferred).
• Demonstrated Expertise in Tier 1 Instructional Practices.
• Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring Skills.
• Knowledge of MTSS Frameworks and Equity-Focused Practices.
• Experience Supporting Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic intervention and support for students identified through MTSS processes.
• Maintain and monitor a caseload of students requiring additional academic, attendance, and engagement support.
• Deliver individualized and small group instruction focused on skill deficits identified through student data.
• Utilize assessment and progress-monitoring data to develop, adjust, and monitor intervention plans.
• Support student goal setting, organization, motivation, and connection to the school community.
• Monitor attendance trends and collaborate with students, families, counselors, and administrators to address barriers to attendance and engagement.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify student needs and align interventions to classroom instruction and curriculum.
