Job summary

Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit 16 seeks a Behavior Intervention Assistant for the Five Star Elementary program in Watsontown, PA. The role supports students with behavioral needs under the supervision of the clinical coordinator and program supervisor.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or high school diploma with 60 credits and at least 2 years in social services. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Mature, conscientious attitude and genuine care for exceptional children.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to work with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Work with pupils during instructional and non-instructional periods; accompany pupils to home, community training trips, lunch, or bus as assigned.
• Create lesson plans and facilitate social skills instruction under supervision.
• Assist in Functional Behavior Assessment processes and in behavioral goal development.
• Implement behavior plans in the classroom and support appropriate clinical interventions.
• Monitor student progress and maintain data for progress reports and meetings.
• Complete required paperwork and data collection per program guidelines.
