Job summary

Elwood Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Behavior Support staff member to provide intensive behavioral support to students with significant needs, including autism. The role will work closely with academic staff to help students access educational environments through proactive strategies and individualized plans.

The successful candidate will implement behavior support plans, collect data, and respond to escalations while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students with significant behavioral needs preferred.
• RBT certification and/or ABA experience preferred.
• Experience with data collection and behavior intervention plans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive behavioral support to students with significant needs.
• Work with students exhibiting challenging behaviors to support learning and safety.
• Implement individualized behavior support plans developed by the educational team.
• Use evidence-based strategies to promote replacement behaviors and coping skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate behavioral support with academics.
• Collect behavioral data and help monitor student progress with the team.
• Respond to escalations while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
