Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant certification preferred or willingness to be trained on-site.
• Experience working with individuals displaying challenging behaviors.
• Knowledge of health, safety and emergency procedures in a school environment.
• Clear Criminal Background Check on file.
• Maturity and ability to serve as a role model for students.

Responsibilities

• Work with educators to develop structures enabling students with challenging behaviors to succeed.
• Implement, modify and report on procedures for identified students.
• Collect data to monitor efficacy of behavioral programs.
• Communicate observations and outcomes to staff and administration.
• Assist students at risk to develop appropriate behaviors and conflict resolution skills.
• Provide support during safety incidents, including appropriate physical intervention when necessary.
• Support students in completing classroom work and achieving academic goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Site Administrator or Director of Special Education.
