Job summary

Beacon is seeking a Behavior Specialist to develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) and train care staff across settings. You will monitor progress, analyze data, and adjust intervention plans under supervision to improve client outcomes.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in clinical meetings, and support crisis management and incident debriefs. Requires a 21+ age, psychology degree, BCaBA/BCBA consideration, and valid license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required.
• BCaBA or BCBA credential or in-progress pursuit is required.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience with mentally ill and intellectually disabled adults preferred.
• Experience with behavioral observations and interventions for complex behaviors is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Valid Driver’s License and criminal background check are required.
• English language proficiency in speaking, reading and writing is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) under supervisor guidance.
• Train staff to implement BSP and intervene during challenging behavior.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for plan effectiveness.
• Participate in monthly clinical/behavioral consultations.
• Develop crisis management and behavioral support across sites as needed.
• Enter data and maintain thorough notes and records.
